Hours:
8:
00am to 5pm EST; Monday - Friday This position provides general administrative support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.
The Pharmacy Support Specialist is responsible for answering incoming phone calls, directing calls to the appropriate associate, handling the flow of correspondence, processing, maintaining, and storing patient health information as well as additional clerical duties.
This position ensures the efficient day-to-day operations of the office.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required and a minimum of 6 months to one year of administrative assistant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Processes, maintains, stores, and retrieves patient health information in accordance with applicable Federal, State and accrediting agencies' requirements.
Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel.
Assists with daily UPS shipment by confirming correct addresses and box count before UPS departs.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient's rights to privacy and confidentiality.
Ensures packing and shipping process conforms with current Policies and Procedures Ships packages.
Identifies packages by the ID number.
Uses Pharmacy Processing software application to enter shipping information and creates UPS record.
Prints UPS labels.
Selects appropriate size box for shipment.
Captures the weight of the shipment.
Prints pickup summary at the end of each day.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Provides cross coverage for the Office Administration during lunch break, scheduled PTO and as needed.
Responds to patient inquiries as appropriate.
